WHO WE ARE

ACANFORA is a store that offers numerous collections for men, women and children and that over the years has been able to satisfy every type of customer by accompanying them in a tailor-made sales experience.
Ours is a family history dating back to 1890, one of those historic and well-rooted in the Sorrento area which has the Acanfora family as its protagonist.
From father to son, the company has brought with it a long tradition in the field of footwear and then in clothing.
Today the company is constantly evolving, thanks to the balance created between tradition and innovation, it has been able to distinguish itself on a large part of the Sorrento Peninsula , becoming a point of reference. Uniting two families, the Acanfora and the Beato , in a family business unique in its kind.

HISTORY

The first real shop, or rather, workshop was opened in 1885 by Mr. Catello Acanfora, craftsman and shoemaker, also called " scarparo" in Neapolitan dialect. Later he reinvented himself as an entrepreneur, with around twenty craftsmen following him who dedicated themselves to the creation of entirely custom-made shoes.

In the early 1920s he was succeeded by his son Ermanno, who continued the family project by establishing himself in the small workshop on Corso Italia in Piano di Sorrento.

Since the age of 15, Ermanno's son, Catello, still known to all today as Mr. Lello, began working in the shop, taking over the company. He opened new roads in the clothing and accessories sector, thus becoming an official reseller of multiple Italian and international brands.

Subsequently, towards the end of the 90s, the Acanfora company moved to the centre of Sorrento, with five stores.

With the help of his three children, Ermanno, Roberto and Carmen, Mr. Lello introduces luxury brands such as Gucci, Fendi, Yves Saint Lauren and others into his stores, becoming one of the few luxury multi-brand stores in southern Italy.

Since 2019, the Acanfora family and the Beato family have continued the Acanfora company project, constantly renewing themselves, dedicating particular attention to the research and selection of brands suitable for a young and trendy clientele.

What has always tied these two families together is dedication, passion and tradition for this job, where both grew up and believed right from the start.
